Vega 2 (EN-C)

Released in 2007

Vega II is a glider for a wide range of pilots. With its high performance and impressive passive safety it is equally suitable for XC-flying as well as for pilots beginning competition flying.

The glider is aimed at regular XC pilots.
Mark Graham (UK) flew 190km during the XC open in Manilla, Australia on the Vega2 (s)

The canopy is designed to optimise the uplift pressures. The profile enables stable flight at a wide range of angle of attack.
The tried & tested construction of diagonal reinforcements at the line attachments was taken from the proven competition glider, the Mercury. This helped us minimise the number of lines. Optimising the number of lines and using different diameters has significantly reduced frontal resistance, subsequently increasing wing´s performance with no effect on safety.

We have achieved these excellent characteristics by using high quality materials (Porcher Marine Scrim W420) on the leading edge of the glider and new materials which have reduced the weight of the canopy, also improving its safety. The newly designed differential speed-system increases speed whilst reducing the chances of collapses at maximum speed.
The canopy is manufactured from ‘water repelent’ Skytex S 9017, which has a high UV reflectivity and excellent resistance to abrasion. The lines are a very new material Liros PPSL, with a core of dyneema which offers minimal stretching and much higher durability. The lines are secured in place on the maillons by plastic inserts.
