Vega 6 (EN-C)
DESCRIPTION
When we developed our new sport class glider (EN-C) we had a clear goal:
We wanted to constrict the best possible paraglider with top performance and and precise handling for pilots who rightly demand more and more safety. The Vega 6 is such a glider, combining the comfortable and precise characteristics of the Axis gliders.
Extensive development work, the use of the latest technical possibilities and extensive testing have resulted in a user-friendly paraglider that offers you great performance and ensures a very good level of safety.
The Vega 6 is designed as a pure 2-liner and is in the sport class (EN-C). It is aimed at experienced pilots and is suitable for both cross-country pilots and as a competition glider.
CONSTRUCTION
The front part of the profile is stiffened by crossed plastic rods, also known as a shark nose. It allows the canopy to be pulled up stably at all angles of attack.
The shape of the top leading edge has been optimised using 3D modelling (called 3D shaping) to give a cleaner leading edge for better glide and speed.
The use of mini-ribs on the trailing edge provides a linear flow of the outgoing airflow – reducing secondary turbulence, which in turn reduces the overall drag of the canopy, contributing to a higher glide ratio / is already a standard feature for Axis gliders.
The glider is designed as a pure 2 liner and has an aspect ratio of 6.3 and 61 cells. This solution, together with the linear distribution of the lines along the span, has allowed us to greatly reduce the consumption of lines, which also contributes significantly to a relatively high maximum speed.
