Axis Vega III : EN-C expected
It’s taken some time to improve on our established cross-country glider the Vega II. However, after a year of intensive design and testing we have reached the certification stage with the new Vega III.
The Vega III takes the concept of the Venus II, itself the 'little sister' to our competition winning Mercury. Whilst we know many people use the 'numbers game' as a basis for glider comparison, we believe that comfort in flight equates to success. In keeping with our design philosophy we decided to work to an aspect ratio that isn't pushed too high. We wanted to produce another cross country glider that pilots feel secure flying wherever they fly, in whatever conditions.
The Vega III handling is intuitive and comfortable. Feedback through the brakes and risers is precise and informative. Performance is 100% useable throughout the speed range. The amount of roll has been reduced to allow a flatter turn which improves thermalling performance and makes for a more efficient glide.
Total line consumption has been reduced. The line set is a mix of unsheathed Liros Dyneema and Cousin Vectraline in the upper cascades to provide minimum drag with durable sheathed Liros Dyneema lowers. Ease and lightness of speed bar use is improved by using ball-bearing pulleys, 'traditional' brake handle poppers ensure brakes remain secure to the risers and velcro openings at the tips make it easy to remove accumulated debris.
The Axis Vega III is set to become the benchmark for performance and safety in the EN-C class!

V předešlých dnech proběhly letové testy nového křídla Pluto II. Jak již název napoví, jedná se o zástupce  oblíbeného Pluta. Všechny manévry s přehledem prošly v EN-B (norma nahrazující zaniklé DHV 1-2). Pevnostní testy proběhly už v listopadu 2008. Testovány jsou velikosti XS, S, M, L - pro letové hmotnosti od 55 kg do 125 kg.
